Jean Ann is a performer and playwright based in Brooklyn, NY. She holds an MFA from Brooklyn College in Performance and Interactive Media Arts and a BFA from Tulane University in Dance and Theatre. She has equal love for niche philosophy books and strong-willed heroines. She prides herself on making the driest of topics sound interesting. When not in her booth, Jean Ann is a producer of theater performances in box trucks on the streets of New York.

Joanna earned her BA in Dramatic Arts from the University of California, Berkeley with a focus on acting and script writing. Although classically trained in stage acting, she's always preferred the intimacy and aura of the recording studio to the stage. This has allowed her to focus on and refine voice as her singular acting tool. She has voiced a variety of work from TV commercials to mini documentaries for a collection of national and international clients including NBC, CBS, Golf Channel, Volvo, and The World Health Organization. Joanna thoroughly enjoys the challenge of widening her dynamic range of dialects, character voices, and poignant, emotive reads.

The first thing to know about me is that I love to read and have been reading voraciously since I was a child. My parents famously kicked me out of the house every day until dark so I wouldn’t be on my bed reading all day! Both my parents were teachers and I have a graduate degree in teaching and taught for 15 years. I have lived in The Netherlands, China, Taiwan and South Korea and I am happily married to my husband of 27 years who is from Nigeria and Cameroon.
